Whistling Hens performers Natalie Groom (clarinet) and Jennifer Piazza-Pick (soprano) will perform Hombres Necios at the College Music Society Mid-Atlantic Conference in a presentation titled “Music by Women or Soprano and Clarinet.” Listeners must register for the conference to attend.

Commissioned by Whistling Hens in the fall of 2022, the work sets a poem by the same name from Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz—a Mexican writer, philosopher, composer, poet, and Hieronymite nun (1648-1695).
