Commissioned by saxophonist Sarah V. Hetrick and percussionist, Paul Millette, ROOTED draws on the symbolism and imagery that reoccurs in Kahlo’s surrealist paintings and personal diary. The work will be premiered as part of the North American Saxophone Alliance conference in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
