Dr. Aaron Ragsdale premieres Cult of Bulbs. Using a simple set up of vibraphone and other resonant metals, this short work (commissioned by Ragsdale in Fall 2022) is inspired by the Phoebus Cartel—which controlled the manufacture and sale of incandescent light bulbs between 1925 and 1939, limiting the lifespan of products through a series of practices we now know as “planned obsolescence.”
